  • has difficulty following directions

  • cannot express self as well as other kids

  • speech is hard to understand

  • behind on learning to read and write

  • does not comprehend stories on same level as peers

  • does not remember as well as others

  • does not make friends easily

  • words get stuck when speaks

  • repeats words or parts of words

  • voice sounds different/funny

  • has restricted diet due to “picky eating”

  • chokes on food or drink

  • has poor vocabulary

  • sentences are incomplete or too simple for age

  • does not understand what he/she is reading
